I've
just discovered the satisfaction and joy of using Free software. You
might wonder what does "free software" actually represent. Well Free
software can be defined as software that be used, modified, and
redistributed without issues. Imagine using a computer for well free,
except for the hardware costs which in most cases are not that high
because the software can be used on lower end
machines.
What I'm using is Ubunut 7.04
w/Automatix2. Ubuntu is a Linux derivative that stresses easy
usability, easy installation, and regular updates. And it works great,
the only problem I have so far is the usage of wireless internet and
that is because i have not really looked into it. Ubuntu comes w/the
following or can be installed easily.
-Firefox -
Everyone's favorite web browser. -Openoffice - Free software
that rivals Microsoft Office -Pidgin - Multi IM program that
can connect to AIM, Yahoo, Gtalk, ICQ etc -GIMP - Open Source
photo manipulation that equal Photoshop in terms of power and
use. -Rhythmbox - Software that looks and acts like Itunes for
playback of audio
Pretty much, any need you have
there is a free and open sourced software available for you to use.
Finally when you purchase or acquire a computer you wont have to spend
hours trying to download illegal copies of the software we need, or
worse yet purchase them. (gasp!)
What do you
use? Google Earth - Linux version available Google
Picasa - Yup there's a Linux Version Adobe Illustrator -
Vector Images, Free open source and frequently updated program called
Inkscape Adobe InDesign - Desktop Publishing, Free Open source
called Scribus
They're even bit torrents, p2p
clients, etc. Virtually anything is available.
Heck
even now Dell is allowing some computers to be shipped with
Ubuntu.
Ubuntu
---- Edit Here's a site that lists open source alternatives to Comercial software. http://www.osalt.com/

"CANBERRA, Australia - A nude car wash offering an X-rated sideshow and topless cleaning in Australia’s tropical Queensland state has been given the all-clear after police and officials said they were powerless to scrub it.
The Bubbles ’n’ Babes car wash in Brisbane prompted a flood of complaints with a topless car wash for $45 and a nude car wash with X-rated lap-dance service for $82."
Wow that would be awesome. No im not a perv, but i think that this is an awesome idea. They use recycled water, so its cool for the environment, and honestly what guy has not had a thought about getting his car washed by hot naked women? right?

| Its the middle of May, which means Summer is right around the corner. Usually this a great time of the year, but honestly I really do not like it. The reason why? All the shows that you've been watching throughout the year is now done. Season finales are everywhere.
24 - Done on Monday 2hour SF Heroes - Done Next Week Rome - Already done and no Season 3 too. :( Desperate Housewives - This Sunday. (I havent kept up w/this show so I dont know if its worth watching or not.) Grey's - Done House - Next Week its over Lost - Next Week done Prison Brk - Already over Friday Night Lights - look above
The only shows that i still watch and are still running is Entourage on HBO and The Tudors on Showtime, each with 3 Episodes left.
So what's left to watch on TV? I guess you're not suppose to sit on your ass and actually go out and enjoy the summer, but still what is there to do in the middle of night when you cant sleep?
